Tuesday"s coaching point

..... "everybody remembers yesterday, Mitchell sat out while you worked. I'm not going to pick on Mitchell for sitting out, he had two soccer tryouts that got rescheduled because of the snow. Mitchell didn't want to burn himself out before his tryouts. I am going to point out, MITCHELL, you could have done the line drills, that was an opportunity to improve, an opportunity that you let get away from you. You will never again have that moment back. You can work lines later at home, but you still can 't get the moment back. To be successful, to achieve or goals we need to take advantage of every opportunity, each moment. I'm not just talking about you athletics, men. I am talking about your life, an opportunity to improve as a wrestler, an opportunity to improve as a student, or an opportunity to improve as a man. Mason asked me if he pins his opponent in under 20 seconds this week, would I make him wrestler of the match. No, if you pin somebody in 20 seconds, does that mean you wrestled your best? or does it mean your opponent sucked? I think it means your opponent sucked. We cannot measure success by win loss, we cannot base our success off of other people. Success is only truly measured in comparison to how you stack up against your maximum potential. If you can go to bed each night and know you did everything you could today to achieve your goals, that you capitalized on each opportunity to make yourself better, you will be successful beyond your biggest dreams. A great tool to help you achieve men, is to right your goals down, write goals n the short term this week or month. Write goal sin the mid term, 6 months to a couple of years. Write down your long term goals. Then list things you need to do to achieve your goals, list as many things as you can think of. Then at the end of the day, check you r list did you do everything you could to achieve your goals today. Honestly evaluate at the end of the week, did I do everything I could, every day this week. If you buy in, if you push yourself towards perfection you will catch greatness."
